Pilaster Mounting Dogs http://www.legacywoodworking.com/productIllustration.cfm?ProductID=46 One of the keys is to mill the core piece on the legacy.
That way you will be sure that it is square to the center of the dog. Any
off center will effect your outcome and that's bad. Next just attach the
flat stock to the core piece and set router on the seam and the index plate to
half your index . When you drop back in the hole you will be gapped the
same on both sides of the seam. Make sure your index is devisable by 4 and
you will be good 4,8,12,16,20,24,28 etc. If you want 12 then you will be
able to set your seam in a hole of a 24 index, move it back 1 hole and then mill
every other hole all the way around. Hope this helps
